The follicles are displayed with a vaginal probe. ( Picture 4) A guiding light guides the needle directly to the egg blister, and the follicle liquid as well as the egg vesicle are retrieved. In most cases, this procedure is taken place under light sedation of the woman. Some patients don’t wish to have any medication at all.
